On the afternoon of Sunday 10 May we shall be joining with our neighbouring parish of Embsay in a Two Parishes Pilgrimage. We shall be retracing the journey (or as much of it as you feel able to) of the Augustinian Canons who travelled from Embsay to Bolton in 1154 to re-found their (then) thirty-year old religious community in more sheltered pastures by the River Wharfe. The timetable for the afternoon will be as follows:
13.30 Pilgrimage leaves St Mary’s Church, Embsay
14.45 Halfway meeting point at Billy Bob’s Ice Cream Parlour for those who wish to join the pilgrimage halfway through.
16.00 Arrival and tea in the Boyle Room
16.30 Songs of Praise in the Priory
Judicious sharing of cars should ensure that those who drive to Embsay or the Ice Cream Parlour to join the pilgrimage can get lifts back to collect their vehicles after Songs of Praise.
