On Friday 25 May at 19.30, Settle Orchestra, under its conductor Alexander Webb, will be playing here as part of the Priory’s 2018 Concert Series. Settle Orchestra is a community-based orchestra of all ages whose mission includes especially the development of young musical talent within its ranks. It plays at least six concerts a year, usually in Settle and Skipton.
It will be, in terms of space occupied, the largest musical ensemble ever to play at the Priory!
The programme is:
Britten Simple Symphony
Woolfenden Serenade for Sophia
Vivaldi Concerto for oboe and bassoon
Haydn Symphony No. 103 (Drum Roll)
In keeping with the orchestra’s mission, Vivaldi’s Concerto for oboe and bassoon features its young musicians Chloe Crossley and Katie Maloney.
