Our annual joint pilgrimage with the parish of Embsay will take place on the afternoon of Pentecost Sunday, 20 May
at 14.00. We shall be walking from the Priory to St Mary’s Church, Embsay, ending with a tea and Songs of Praise. The pilgrimage is a
yearly opportunity to celebrate the ancient links between our two communities as we recall the journey that the Augustinian Canons
made from Embsay to Bolton to re-found their community in 1154.
This year it will also be the climax of our participation in the Archbishops’ initiative ‘Thy Kingdom Come’
