Saturday 6th May
St Aidan’s Swing Band and Chamber Choir
The student music groups at St Aidan’s Church of England High School achieve
great success at regional and national level, and we are delighted to welcome two of
their award-winning senior ensembles. The Swing Band is a past winner at the Great
North Big Band Festival, and the Chamber Choir is a past winner and regular finalist
at the BBC Senior School Choir of the Year. A musical extravaganza is in store.

Friday 19th May
Dave Challis Jazz Trio
The Dave Challis Trio go back more than 30 years with their popular repertoire of
swing era hits of Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw and Duke Ellington and a host of
toe-tapping Dixieland favourites. Dave on clarinet and sax, with Gary Gillyett, guitar
and banjo and Kevin Walker, bass and sousaphone have been great favourites for
many years in the Ilkley area. They currently present their popular Jazz Brunch at
The Wheatley Arms in Ben Rhydding.

Friday 30th June
Steeton Male Voice Choir
Steeton Male Voice Choir celebrated its Centenary in 2008 and the Glee Club of 16
Steeton men is now a choir with a membership of about 80, making it one of the
biggest male voice choirs in the country. The choir has received much praise for the
precision of its singing, the richness of its sound and the quality of its diction. By the
choir’s performances it normally helps to raise over £10,000 annually for charities
and other good causes. Much larger sums are raised through its singing in massed
choir concerts such as those in the Royal Albert Hall in which the choir has
participated on seven occasions.

Friday 14th July
Skipton Choral Society
Skipton Choral Society was set up in 2013 to perform with the Skipton Building
Society Camerata Orchestra. They have had several successful concerts including
Bach’s St John Passion, Mendelsohn’s Elijah and Beethoven’s Choral Symphony.
They have sung at Grassington Festival and held Christmas Concerts in Skipton.
Now an independent choral society, they have broadened their repertoire to include
English madrigals, a jazz mass, and challenging pieces by contemporary composers
including Philip Glass, Jussi Chydenius and Veljo Tormis.

A glass of wine will be served during the interval
