‘In Christian worship we are looking for nothing other than our transformation’ (George Guiver). Words, music, silence, colour, architecture – all these can help to make worship a transforming experience, and we believe that they all make a significant contribution to our worship at Bolton Priory. On Sundays our worship is rooted in the tradition of the Book of Common Prayer, sometimes supplemented (especially at the major festivals of the Church’s year) by the very best of the Church of England’s modern liturgical provision. In this way, like the ‘householder who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old’ (Matthew 13.52) we honour the whole of our Church of England tradition. Baptisms and weddings are all conducted using liturgies in contemporary language, and our Liquid Family Worship is informal.
We welcome you to join us as we seek to be a community that lives well with God and is transformed, by grace, into the likeness of Jesus Christ.
